This one was recorded live at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, in support of NY-based jazz-funk trio, Soulive. It ain't perfect, but what is, really? Artists include Eddie Bo, Lee Michaels, UK bands Speedometer, Big Boss Man, & The Soul Destroyers (featuring one of the tightest drummers on the planet, Malcolm Cotto), LA's own Breakestra (our wedding band, if you can wrap your head around that!), Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Black Heat, and Mary Jane Hooper, to name a few.
Typical of a DJ Medi4 setbreak, it starts around 90 BPM, and finishes at 160 in a little less than an hour. With funk, it ain't about being subtle, it's about tearing the place up...
